Work at Home Mom Guilt
A work from home mom on Instagram posted that she feels guilty when she tells her kids she can’t play and has to work.
Do not feel guilty.
You are giving your children a live example of what a working woman looks like and how to prioritize work and play.
There are times to work and there are times to play. They will be able to learn from you by watching you do both. This is a valuable lesson for children to learn early on. The will be able to see you as a dynamic person, who works, who plays, and who loves them doing both.
I homeschool my six year old daughter. She loves playing games. If she is done with all her lessons and we can both spare 15 minutes before her after school activities (dance, theater, tennis), we play a game. I’m not talking about Monopoly or some other board game that takes a long time. We play fun and educational games with 15 minute play time.
I have found fitting in a quick 15 minute game is a fun break for both of us.
Here are some quick games we enjoy:
The Ladybug Game
Sum Swamp
Qwixx
Rat-a-tat-cat
Too Many Monkeys
Sushi Go
Zingo
